Policy For Observing the Lord's Supper
Trinity practices a "semi-closed" observance of the Lord's Supper (Communion). This means we "fence" the table, offering it only to the members of Trinity Baptist Church. We also invite others who meet the Biblical criterion for partaking of the Lord's Supper. The Biblical qualifications include:
- Those who have received the Gospel of Christ, who have repented of their sins and trusted Jesus Christ alone for their salvation.
- Those who have been baptized by immersion as a sign of the union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (You can read more about baptism in our section titled, "What is a Reformed Baptist Church." Also, there is a document under "Study Notes.")
- Those who are members in good standing of an evangelical church where they attend regularly and serve faithfully.
- Those who are living in a manner consistent with their profession of faith in Christ.
