One of the benefits of being a small congregation is that we enjoy a close fellowship with one another. Every Sunday night after the evening service we share a covered dish fellowship meal, and we often get together at other times to grow closer as members of Christ’s body, to serve together in ministry, or simply to enjoy each other’s company. It is refreshing and uplifting to spend time with fellow believers, and we are truly blessed of God to enjoy such friendship as Christ has made possible through His sacrificial love for us. Our scheduled activities for each month can be found in our event calendar, which is posted here for anyone who wishes to visit with us and for our absent-minded members (like the web editor). Below is a description of some of the things we do together. You can also find some pictures of our fellowships on the event pictures page. Printing and Tract Ministry Our church, with the volunteer help of our members, prints 11 different gospel tracts, which we give at no cost to anyone who wants to distribute them. We have printed close to 100,000 tracts in the past six years. Vacation Bible School Each June we invite children from the communities around our church to come, on a Friday and Saturday, to our Vacation Bible School. There is plenty of fun, food, and crafts, but we also maintain a strong focus on teaching them about the Bible and challenging them with the truth about God’s holiness, their own unworthiness before Him, and the wonderful mercy He showed in sacrificing His Son for sinners. Ladies’ Book Study One Tuesday evening each month, the women of the church meet in someone’s home for a time of fellowship and study. They have worked through Martha Peace’s books, The Excellent Wife and Becoming a Titus 2 Woman, and Don Whitney’s book, Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life. They are currently studying through Ted Tripp's book, Shepherding a Child's Heart. Men’s Book Study On the first Saturday morning of each month our men gather together at 7:00 a.m. for study. Of course, before the study we have to consume a large portion of donuts and coffee. Wednesday Prayer Meetings We meet every Wednesday night at 7:00. These meetings alternate in format from week to week. Two meetings per month are preaching services. Pastor Crawford is currently leading us through the book of Acts. We spend the other two Wednesday meetings in corporate prayer. It is an important time in the life of our church, as we come together and pour our hearts out in worship before God. Church-Wide Fellowships We resist the modern practice of segregating the family with youth groups, etc. These practices generally weaken and divide the family rather than serving to strengthen it. We frequently get our families together simply to relax, chat, and watch the kids have fun. We may visit the zoo or a plantation home, go roller-skating or bowling, or whatever else gets suggested. Visitors are always welcome.
